AUCTION INFORMATION
AUCTION GUIDELINES
All sales are final. Refunds will be made only if Linfield Christian School (LCS) is unable to fulfill the item as listed or at LCS discretion.
All purchases must be paid in full on the night of the auction by cash, check, VISA, AmEx, Discover or MasterCard. Sales tax will be added to those items considered taxable by the State Board of Equalization.
Please pay careful attention to all conditions, restrictions, and expiration dates on items and services. Unless otherwise stated, all auction certificates must be used within one year of the auction date.
It is the responsibility of the winner to contact the donor after the auction to make arrangements for trips, special experiences, home and hotel stays.
LCS has made every reasonable effort to describe each item correctly. All items are sold “as is” by Linfield Christian School. The items are sold without warranty, expressed or implied, and without representation by Linfield Christian School as to actual value of an item, either for tax purposes or for general use.
According to the Internal Revenue Service, only the amount paid for an auction item in excess of the fair market value of that prize is tax deductible.
ONLINE AUCTION
*Online auction will be available on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 12pm and will close on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 5pm.
Those who have RSVP'd to attend the celebration as well as those who have self-registered for the online auction only will receive a text message with a personalized link on their smartphone. Clicking the link will log the bidder into the online auction with their personal account.
To bid on an item, enter the item number and set your maximum bid. The bidding program will enter the next minimum raise for you and automatically increase your bid as needed to stay in the lead. When you have been outbid, the auction software will notify you.
Online packages have stated values from the donor. Whatever you pay above the value is considered a donation for tax purposes. "Priceless" online experiences are considered donations in their entirety, e.g. Teacher of the Day, except for certain items included, e.g. entry tickets for a theme park experience with a teacher.
Online auction winners may pick up their items at the LCS Admin office beginning Monday, May 15 from 8:00am -3:30pm.
LIVE AUCTION
A professional auctioneer will conduct the live auction. To participate in the Live Auction, you must register for and be in attendance at the Auction and Celebration. To place a bid, raise your pre-printed bid number high until the auctioneer acknowledges your bid. If you cannot attend the Auction and Celebration in person but would like to bid on a Live Auction item, please contact Ari Petersen at (858) 356-7906 or apetersen@linfield.com to bid by proxy.
Following the close of bidding for each item, the auctioneer will announce the winning bidder. This constitutes a legal contract to buy.
EXPRESS CHECK-OUT
Our express check-out system is designed to speed up your departure at the end of the evening. Simply follow these steps:
First, please opt to allow LCS to retain your credit card information either when making your online RSVP or when checking in at the event. The credit card placed on file will be used for payment for any purchases that you make. You will not be charged if you do not make any purchases. We will gladly accept payment by check as this avoids the loss of a percentage of the gift/purchase to the credit card processing fees.
At the end of the evening, go to the check-out station to receive a summary of your purchases and to collect your certificates. Your finalized auction receipt will be e-mailed to you the following week.
Please note that all winning bids must be entered before statements can be printed, therefore check-out will become available at the end of the evening.
